The later 19th century bevelled plate within a frame carved with flowers, leaves and scrolls retaining much of the original oil gilding
Richard Cranfield 1731-1809, Caple St., Dublin, was a highly skilled carved, exhibited at the Society of Artists. Examples of his work in Mansion House, Provost’s House, Dublin and National Museum of Ireland
A giltwood frame attributed to him for Sir Joshua Reynolds portrait of the Duke of Northumberland hangs in the Mansion House, Dublin
